Windsor police say they arrested a man on both new charges and outstanding warrants after he hurt himself trying to break into a business, then flagged down officers for help.
Police said an injured man stopped officers around 5:30 a.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Chrysler Centre. The officers arrested the man on outstanding warrants from British Columbia, then took him to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Officers continued investigating, and discovered video surveillance that allegedly showed the man breaking in a business that day in the same area. Police said the man cut himself and suffered serious injuries while breaking a window to get inside the business.
The 34-year-old man has been charged with break and enter and mischief under $5,000.
